Epic backfire under highway underpasses. Tunnels. Pretty much dumping the exhaust at the muffler rather than through it
Well, had to fix it. Dang.
Oh those pathetic burps.

I lost the pipe after the cat in my straight 6 Volvo 960 wagon once and had 30 miles to drive home. Gawd did it sound glorious. Had to fix though, it was ridiculous how loud it was

Oh yeah, I loved it too on mine, especially the burbles. My brother said he used to hear me start it inside the apartment block. Musta sounded lovely, coming home late at night. :D
Sadly, had to pass MOT, so... :(
Some day, I will have those doohickeys that let you dump exhaust before any muffling.

Or just keep it that way. I have two vehicles with only "mufflers" on them

Oh, my muffler place offers resonator internal baffle removal for an extra 20. It's still backfiring just not encouraging me to do so with glorious ba-BANG. Ah, another weak point will develop.

On my project car the fuel pump was going, so the previous owner jacked up the pressure, running super rich (given how dry rotted the hoses were he's lucky he did create a fireball). Mixed with an exhaust leak on a shortened sport exhaust, it resulted in an awesome "put put put " when suddenly lifting off from WOT. I've been tempted to un fix that ever since.
